From my Email Box
Mar. 23rd, 2005 09:43 pmIn my Circle of Light healing request newsletter:
A couple days ago, March 21, at the beginning of a new cycle of seasons
for our planet, tragedy struck a Native American community in the
northern part of the United States, at Red Lake, Minnesota. A student
of this community killed his grandfather and wife of the grandfather,
and then this student went to his school, Red Lake High School, and
killed students and a teacher before killing himself. This act struck
at the heart of this peaceful community. It has wounded all who live
here. The heart is the Love center of the physical body and also the
Love center of the community. The Native American is sensitive to these
acts of violence. He knows that All are One. To strike at one is to
strike at all. The community is brought to its knees and it will be a
long time before its members recover. We are healers. It is our job to
heal. Let us send cards of Love to the community. We can send them to
the principal of Red Lake High School, Red Lake, Minnesota, MN, 56671,
USA. Perhaps the principal will post them on the wall for the students
so they will know we send them Love during this time of great hardship.
I've been aware of the incident, and the ripples from it are affecting many people directly in my vision, including the members of a community I moderate here. I deeply respect that the tribe has requested the press to leave them alone and stay off the rez. They had their public prayer ceremony and they have withdrawn to mourn and heal. I am hopeful that their wishes will be honored and that the contact they receive from outside is gentle and generous, filled with love and support for a family in pain.
If you are interested in sending any donations to the families, here is some information (thanks,
nativedreams):
