The power of God protects me; the presence of God watches over me.
No matter what I do today or where I go, the presence of God is there with me--in both surroundings that are familiar and new. There is no place in the world where the power of God does not reach, no place on planet Earth where the presence of God is not felt and responded to.
As I pray the "Prayer for Protection" I reaffirm the truth of God's all-powerful, loving presence. I pray knowing that God's holy presence is within me and within each person in the world:
The light of God surrounds us;
The love of God enfolds us;
The power of God protects us;
The presence of God watches over us.
Wherever we are, God is.
"Be strong and of good courage, and act. Do not be afraid or dismayed; for the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not fail you or forsake you."--1 Chronicles 28:20

We still have power here, amazingly. I took a long nap with my CPAP, on the chance it would go out and I wouldn't be able to later. Rita just made backwall landfall, so the eye will tighten up a bit and the storm will start spiraling down a little. Storm made landfall in Louisiana, as I suspected it would, remains to be seen if it keeps going NW or turns NNW. It's raining cats and dogs. Harley, who doesn't care for bad weather, is hanging close. I feel oddly calm now... thanks for the positive thoughts, I can feel them.
